Arzak arrived at Los Barrios pound in October 2025 and was about 2 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous German Shepherd that was found presumably abandoned on the streets and taken to the pound.Arzak is a very handsome young German Shepherd who arrived at the pound in October 2025, at about 2 years old.He has only recently arrived, so we are still getting to know him. At the moment, Arzak is living alone in a tiny, damp, cold and dark cage, where he spends more than 23½ hours a day. This environment is, understandably, very stressful for such a young and intelligent dog, but due to the lack of space, this is unfortunately how he must currently spend his days.Arzak has recently been out on his first walk. He walked very nicely on the lead, did not pull, and was not bothered by passing cars, people, other dogs or even a horse. He was walked alongside two other large male dogs and seemed comfortable and calm. When passing cats, he showed some interest but was able to move on without any issues. He was also happy to stop for a small treat and enjoyed a gentle cuddle.This beautiful young boy deserves a home of his own where he can finally relax, settle, and decompress from the stress he is currently experiencing. At this stage, we feel Arzak would be best suited as an only dog, in a home with a family who has experience with large breeds and can give him the stability, space, and understanding he needs to thrive.
