Sky arrived at Los Barrios pound in May 2025 and was about 9 years old on arrival. She is a gorgeous Pitbull Crossbreed that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.💔 Sky – Forgotten, Still Full of Love…Sky is around nine years old and has only just arrived at the pound – but her body tells the story of long-term neglect. She came to us in a truly heartbreaking state: skinny, with a severe skin condition, and eyes that reflect nothing but sorrow and confusion. How could anyone have let her reach this point? How could a dog like Sky – so gentle and loving – have been left to suffer?Despite all she has endured, Sky remains incredibly sweet with people. She leans into gentle hands, grateful for the smallest act of kindness. And yet, after all her suffering, she now finds herself in a tiny cage for more than 23 hours a day, alone and without comfort. She is safe, yes. She is finally receiving food and medical treatment – but what she needs most is love, companionship, and a sense of belonging. Sadly, we simply don’t have enough volunteers to give her the attention she so desperately craves.Sky currently lives in a small cage on her own, but during the day she spends time out on the patio with all the other dogs—both males and females—and she is doing really well. She is calm, sociable, and sweet .She has already been through more than any dog should in a lifetime. Please – if you have room in your heart and home, let Sky finally know what it means to be loved and never abandoned again. She needs someone now. Could that someone be you?Update – October 2025: In October 2025, sweet Sky was lucky to be given a second chance. As an elderly lady, she really struggled to cope with life at the pound — the noise, the stress, and the lack of peace were simply too much for her.Thanks to two wonderful and dedicated volunteers, Rocío and Nadia, Sky was moved to a private residence where she now has the time, attention, and calm she needs to feel safe and cared for. We are truly grateful to them for making this possible and for surrounding Sky with so much kindness. 🌸Sky is doing much better now, but she is still waiting for her forever home — a loving place where she can spend her golden years in comfort and peace.She is gentle, affectionate, and deeply appreciative of every bit of love she receives.
