Rumba arrived at Los Barrios pound in September 2021 and was about 1,5 years old on arrival. She is a Malinois cross breed that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.Rumba is a damage soul and is a complex dog who has faced significant challenges despite her young age. Life hasn't been kind to her, and she struggles to find her place in the bustling chaos of the pound.She has been with us for three years, but without the resources to help her overcome her issues, she has not made any progress at all.Rumba longs for connection, but her past experiences have made her wary and withdrawn. She prefers solitude over forced interaction and will bite when her boundaries are crossed. Rumba lives alone in a tiny cage, and while she sometimes goes out on the patio with another dog, she is mostly on her own without any company.She rarely goes out on walks due to her complexity and our lack of qualified volunteers. It is a sad and lonely life for her...Rumba is looking for a quiet sanctuary—a home without children where she can roam freely in a garden. She needs someone experienced with the breed and handling complicated dogs, someone who will respect her need for space and offer her the gentle solace she craves.If you can provide Rumba with a calm and understanding environment, please consider giving her a chance.
