Tego arrived at Los Barrios pound in February 2024 and was about 1 year old on arrival. He is a gorgeous cross breed that was handed in by his owner.Tego, is a charming young boy whose transformation from a timid soul to a sweet and affectionate companion has been remarkable. Initially shy and reserved, Tego has blossomed despite his rough start, becoming a loving and cheerful chap who brings joy to everyone he meets. He currently shares his cage with two lovely females.Tego is delightful on walks, displaying excellent leash manners and a lively spring in his step. With his charm and striking good looks, Tego is sure to capture the hearts of all who meet him.!Update April on Linda and Tego:A Little Adventure – and a Big ReminderYesterday, Linda and Tego had a very special day. Two of our volunteers took them on a little adventure to the local town—a rare break away from the noise and stress of the pound.They both did incredibly well. Curious, eager to explore, and full of life. They walked nicely on the lead most of the time, with just a bit of pulling here and there—understandable excitement for dogs who rarely get to leave the shelter. They weren’t bothered by traffic, people, children playing, or other dogs. They jumped in and out of the car without hesitation, lay quietly during the drive, and truly enjoyed all the attention and cuddles.You’ll see in the photos and video just how amazing they were. Confident, gentle, trusting... like they’d done this a thousand times before.And that’s what makes days like this both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Because at the end of their lovely outing, they had to go back to the pound. Back behind bars, even after proving they’re ready for a real home.Linda and Tego are more than ready for adoption. They are sweet, loving dogs who deserve a second chance. Let’s help them shine every day.Update: Tego’s friend Linda has recently been adopted, leaving him behind at the pound. Fortunately, he hasn’t been alone for long — he now shares his daily patio break with a new companion, Toby, a large male dog. The two are getting along very well and enjoy spending time together. This new friendship is yet another sign of Tego’s balanced and sociable nature.He eagerly awaits a loving home where he can continue to spread his happiness.
