Spiderman arrived at Los Barrios pound in September 2021 and was about 1 year old on arrival. He is a gorgeous podenco that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.Spiderman arrived in September 2021 with complete paralysis of his back legs.He was found by a volunteer on the side of a road and taken to the vet, where we received a devastating diagnosis:His spine was fractured.Thanks to the support of foster homes, Spiderman was able to receive special care — including lots of physiotherapy sessions!Today, Spiderman can stand up, he gets along well with other dogs (he loves to play!), and lives a normal life despite his injury.His foster tells us (2023):Spiderman is a textbook podenco — shy but trusting, very affectionate and cuddly.He lives with two children. At first, he would growl a little at my daughter because she’s very intense (5 years old), but once he saw she was harmless, he accepted her.He also lives with my two female dogs and gets along great with them. He loves to play. At first, he would hold back because he lacked balance and would end up rolling over, but now he doesn’t mind — he’s the first to jump into playtime.He’s also been around male dogs, like my mother’s, with no issues. As for cats, I have no idea — we haven’t tested him.In general, he’s calm. He spends his day on his dog bed or lying at your feet wherever you are.
