Faraona arrived at Los Barrios pound in April 2025 and was about 1.5 years old on arrival. She is a gorgeous Crossbreed that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.Faraona – a sweet and affectionate young girl...Faraona is a beautiful young dog, around 18 months old. She is very sweet and loving with people, and absolutely adores cuddles and treats. She enjoys human attention and lights up when someone takes the time to be with her.Faraona currently shares her cage with a male dog, and they get along very well. Sadly, she still spends over 23 hours a day confined in a tiny space. This is no life for any dog, especially one so young and eager to connect. Faraona deserves so much more—a home where she can thrive and be part of a family.We hope she won’t have to wait too long for her chance at a better life.Update – January 2026:"Due to heavy rainfall and the risk of flooding at the pound, Faraona and Leonardo were placed in a temporary foster home for a few days. This short stay has given us valuable insight into Faraona’s behaviour in a home environment.According to the foster, Faraona enjoys sunbathing and is very playful, both with Leonardo and with people. She quickly chose a favourite toy and happily carries it around. She is highly intelligent, pays close attention, and learns very quickly. She responds well to rewards and affection. When invited, she engages enthusiastically in play.Faraona interacts confidently with Leonardo and clearly takes the lead in their relationship. She is also capable of calm behaviour: one evening she sat quietly on the sofa, watching television with the foster, showing an ability to settle indoors.She actively seeks human contact and enjoys being close to people. During the night, she woke up to ask to go outside to pee and then settled back to sleep, sleeping closely beside the foster. When receiving treats, she waited patiently for her turn while next to Leonardo. However, during meals, they need to be fed separately.Faraona is curious and confident, exploring her surroundings — including checking inside wardrobes, with Leonardo following her lead.The foster describes her as bold, very playful, active and full of life, good-natured, and extremely affectionate. She needs regular physical and mental activity and is not suited to a lifestyle where she would be confined to an apartment and only taken out twice a day. She enjoys being with people."
