Tirina arrived at Los Barrios pound in June 2025 and was about 2 years old on arrival. She is a gorgeous Crossbreed that was found presumably abandoned on the streets and taken to the pound.Tirina – a young and affectionate lady looking for her forever homeTirina is about two years old (on arrival in June 2025) and very sociable, showing a loving nature towards people. She is currently working on being integrated with another dog at the pound, which is a positive step for her social development.Tirina lives in a cage at the pound for more than 23 hours every single day. She truly enjoys the rare moments when a volunteer has time to take her out for a walk, although these opportunities are unfortunately limited due to a shortage of volunteers. On walks, Tirina is full of enthusiasm. At the beginning, she is so excited that she makes a few small, happy jumps — like a little kangaroo — but after a short while she settles and walks nicely on the lead. She does not seem bothered by passing traffic or by other dogs. With some dogs she shows interest, always in a friendly way, and she is very happy to stop along the way for treats and cuddles.In more confined spaces at the stressful pound, such as the patio, Tirina can sometimes become a bit too intense with other dogs, likely due to excitement and the lack of regular outlets. This is something she is continuing to work on, and with more structure, guidance, and regular exercise, she has great potential to improve.Despite these challenges, Tirina remains hopeful and eager for a better life.
