Obby: A Heartbreaking Story of Waiting...Obby arrived at Los Barrios pound in September 2018 and was about 4-5 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous Pitbull that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.Poor Obby has been waiting for a home for 6,5 years... 6,5 long years spent behind bars. What a waste of a life! Is it because he's big? Black? With his striking two different colored eyes, he's truly a handsome and special dog.Obby is a smart, affectionate dog who adores human attention. He loves treats and has learned to sit and wait calmly. He enjoy going for walks and walks well on a lead, unfazed by people, other dogs, or passing cars.For 6,5 years, Obby has been confined to a tiny cage, spending more than 23 hours a day every single day in isolation. His only moments of joy are the brief walks he occasionally gets. The rest of the time, he is alone, yearning for the freedom and love he deserves.Although he hasn’t been tested with other dogs, he has never shown signs of aggression toward them.Now, Obby is elderly. He has spent the best years of his life in loneliness and confinement. Please, don’t let him die at the pound alone in a cage. He has endured so much solitude and deserves to experience the warmth of a loving home in his twilight years.Obby deserves a loving home where he can spend his remaining years in comfort and happiness. There, he is finally experiencing what he was denied for far too long: peace, space, patience, and compassionate care. A calm and loving environment where he can rest, receive the attention he needs, and begin to feel safe and whole again.It’s hard to express how painful it is that Obby had to wait this long. For years, he lived in silence and without complaint in a cage that was too small, too dark, and too damp. He never gave up. He never stopped hoping. But he always deserved more — open space, soft grass beneath his paws, and the feeling of freedom.We carry the sadness of not being able to find him a home all these years. In many ways, we feel we failed him. No dog should have to wait so long. But now, thanks to AIMS, Obby has a true chance to heal — and maybe, just maybe, this new beginning will lead him to the forever home he’s been dreaming of for so long.He’s not there yet… but for the first time, he is closer than ever.And we’ve recently received even more good news: Obby now has a furry girlfriend at the sanctuary!
