Jersey arrived at Los Barrios pound in March 2025 and was about 7.5 months old on arrival. Shortly after her arrival, she moved into a foster home, where she has been slowly discovering the world and learning to trust people.In foster, Jersey has made beautiful progress. She gets along wonderfully with the resident dogs and even does well with cats, goats, and pigs. Because of her shy nature, it has always been essential that her new home has a friendly, confident dog who can help her feel safe and show her that life isn’t so scary.📍January 2026 update:The other day, Jersey spent a day visiting the pound. It was clear how much she has grown—she is still timid with people, but she will come up to you if you stay calm and offer treats. Her foster says she has continued to thrive and is calmer than before. It’s also very clear that she really needs a home with other dogs, as they give her confidence and help her feel secure.Jersey is now around one and a half years old and is still in foster care, but she truly deserves a home of her own. She needs an experienced, patient family, someone who understands shy dogs and is willing to let her progress at her own pace.
