Donovan arrived at Los Barrios pound in August 2025 and was about 7 years old on arrival. Donovan is about 7 years old and sadly arrived at the pound in a terrible state. He was removed from a house where he lived with a cat and a rabbit; his former owner suffered from Diogenes syndrome. It is hard to imagine how anyone, even his own family, could have let him get into this condition.When he first arrived, he was a little timid with people and seemed unsure of his surroundings — a completely natural reaction when suddenly finding himself in a crowded pound, surrounded by unfamiliar people and barking dogs.Donovan gets along well with other dogs and is currently sharing his cage with a female without any problems.Unfortunately, he now spends more than 23 hours a day locked in a cage. He deserves so much more — a calm, loving home where he can feel safe, cared for, and valued every single day.Donovan is ready to leave his difficult past behind and experience the stability and kindness of a true home. He deserves nothing less than the best.
