Porto arrived at Los Barrios pound in October 2025 and was about 8 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous Crossbreed that was handed in by his owner.Porto – A Gentle Braco Who Dreams of More Walks and Companionship..This handsome eight-year-old Braco (on arrival in October 2025) is Porto — a gentle, soulful dog who sadly found himself at the pound after being handed in by his owner. You can only imagine how confusing and overwhelming it must be to suddenly be surrounded by unfamiliar people, barking dogs, and all the noises of the pound.Porto loves going out on walks. He would happily go on adventures far more often than he does, but at the pound, the few volunteers and the many dogs mean he doesn’t get out very often. When he does, he is a joy to walk — calm, attentive, and polite on the lead. True to his breed, he loves using his nose, exploring every interesting scent along the way. He is unfazed by cars, people, or other dogs passing by, and although he may be a little unsure about new sights, like a small pony behind a fence, he handles everything beautifully. Porto even enjoys a refreshing little dip in the river!For a few days, Porto was allowed to spend time in the yard with other dogs. Unfortunately, a small confrontation with another large male dog meant that he is now on his own.Life at the pound is incredibly hard for Porto. He spends more than 23 and a half hours a day in a small, damp, and dark cage, sometimes crying out of loneliness. He is miserable and isolated, and it’s clear he desperately needs a loving home where he can finally feel safe, secure, and part of a family.Porto is a wonderful, noble dog who truly deserves a calm and caring home to spend his golden years.
