Turca arrived at Los Barrios pound in November 2023 and was about 2 years old on arrival. She is a gorgeous American Staffordshire Terrier that was handed in by her owner.Turca, is a beautiful and intelligent dog who has made incredible strides since arriving at the pound. Initially filled with distrust, Turca has grown calmer and more sociable thanks to the consistent efforts of a dedicated volunteer who works with her every week.Turca is a lively and highly intelligent girl. Her active nature means she loves to be engaged and mentally stimulated, making her an ideal companion for someone who enjoys training and outdoor activities. She has already become accustomed to wearing a muzzle, demonstrating her adaptability and willingness to learn.While Turca hasn't had the chance to interact with other dogs yet, she shows potential. Given her intelligence and energy, she would thrive in a home with someone experienced in handling her breed or similar breeds. This kind of environment will help her continue to build confidence and trust.Turca needs a loving home where she can feel safe and appreciated. Please consider giving her the chance she deserves to live a happy and fulfilling life.June 2025 – A new beginning for Turca...Turca was really struggling at the pound — the stress and noise were simply too much for her, and she wasn’t coping well… Poor girl.Thankfully, her favourite volunteer stepped in and raised the funds needed to move her to a quiet place where she’s now under the care of a professional trainer. Thanks to this incredible act of kindness, Turca finally has the chance to recover in a calmer environment — one that includes the expert support she needs to manage her anxiety and start healing.She has just moved in, and we hope to share an update on how she’s settling in very soon 😊Although life is already a little gentler for her now, Turca is still living in a cage — she’s safe, but it’s not the same as having a real home. She’s still waiting for that one special person or family to give her the love and security she truly deserves.We’re sure that Turca is deeply grateful to her favourite volunteer for making this possible — and so are we!
