Pitu arrived at Los Barrios pound in April 2023 and was about 2 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous Mastin that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.Poor Pitu arrived at the pound very skinny, with a wound on his nose and a scar with no fur around his neck — he has probably been tied up for most of his life.He didn’t cope well at the pound in the beginning, but over time he has changed a lot and has become a much happier chap.Pitu is probably the biggest dog at the pound, and despite his size he can still behave like a puppy. He is a big, goofy boy who enjoys interacting with people and loves attention. When he wants cuddles, he will lean against you with his full weight and simply stay there.After such a long time in the pound, Pitu’s needs have changed. He no longer goes out with other dogs and will need to be the only dog in his future home. This is something potential adopters should be prepared for and willing to manage responsibly.When it comes to food, Pitu can be quite defensive. For this reason, we are looking for experienced adopters who are familiar with very large dogs and understand the importance of safe management.Pitu needs a home with plenty of space and a securely fenced garden. Due to his size and strength, a home without small children is recommended, as he could easily knock them over unintentionally.Pitu is looking for a calm, experienced home where he can finally settle and be someone’s one and only.
