Siete arrived at Los Barrios pound in February 2024 and was about 2 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous Malinois that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.Siete arrived at the pound in February 2024, only about 2 years old. This young fella is quite the looker, with his striking appearance sure to turn heads. Siete is a Malinois — a smart boy who already knows a few tricks and cues, showing just how trainable he is. He absolutely adores people and thrives on cuddles and positive training. He loves going on walks and is doing well on the lead; he does not seem bothered by cars, people, or other dogs passing by. He just wants to explore and sniff the grass. However, life hasn’t been sunshine and rainbows for Siete. He’s been feeling the stress of spending most of his days locked up in a cage, with less than an hour outside in the small patio with two other dogs. It’s been tough on him, poor guy… he needs some human attention.Update – March 2025Siete went to a private kennel for a few days due to heavy rain and the risk of flooding at the pound. He was so, so, SO happy at his foster place! Siete is a dog who struggles with stress in a cage, but he enjoyed the little time with his foster carer while waiting for the rain to pass — and he couldn’t have been happier.Since returning to the pound, Siete is really struggling. He has now been living in a tiny cage for almost two years, spending more than 23 hours a day locked inside. As a Malinois, he needs daily activity to thrive, and the stressful life at the pound is taking its toll. He has become more selective with people — he remains very sweet with those he knows, but meeting new people has become challenging. Walks have also become more stressful; he sometimes pulls on the lead and barks at certain people, likely due to the prolonged stress he experiences in the pound.Poor Siete needs an experienced home without children, or a foster home, where he can decompress and start over. At the pound, we simply do not have the resources to help him fully. We’ve seen what a wonderful dog he can be — calm, affectionate, and eager to learn — and he deserves the chance to show it every day. Please consider giving Siete the loving, structured, and active home he so desperately needs. 🐾💛
