Goliat arrived at Los Barrios pound in May 2024 and was about 1,5 years old on arrival. He is a malinois that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.Goliat arrived at the pound 1.5 years ago, which means he has now spent half of his young life living in a cage. He is a handsome young Malinois with a sweet and loving nature. He adores cuddles — if you sit on the ground with him, he will quickly lay across your legs to soak up hugs and affection. He loves going for walks and is excellent on the lead, unfazed by passing cars, other dogs, or even horses. Goliat enjoys exploring his surroundings, stopping to sniff, and he will sit calmly for a treat when asked. He’s always happy to take a moment for a treat and plenty of cuddles.Goliat already knows basic cues like “sit” and “lie down,” and he is a very responsive and well-mannered boy. With his calm demeanor and willingness to follow directions, he is a joy to have by your side.He is looking for an experienced owner who understands the Malinois breed. He would do best in a home without other dogs, as he thrives in an environment where he can be the center of attention.Living in a tiny cage for more than 23 hours a day is not helping Goliat, and he deserves the chance to show his true potential. With the right guidance, plenty of exercise, and a loving home, Goliat can become a loyal and devoted companion. Are you the experienced and dedicated owner Goliat needs? If you’re ready to provide him with the love, structure, and attention he deserves, please reach out for more information. Let’s give Goliat the opportunity to live a happy, fulfilling life.In July 2025, Goliat enjoyed a special day away from the pound — a little adventure that showed even more of his lovely character. He travelled well in the car and seemed comfortable throughout the trip. During the day, he walked calmly past people, horses, and cows, taking everything in with quiet curiosity. At one point, two dogs barked at him from behind a fence, but Goliat stayed calm and showed no reaction. He remained relaxed, interested, and content, enjoying every moment of his outing. This little glimpse of life outside the pound confirmed what we already knew: Goliat is a well-balanced, gentle dog who will make a fantastic companion.
