Atuk arrived at Los Barrios pound in May 2025 and was about 2.5 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous Czechoslovakian Wolfdog that was found presumably abandoned on the streets and taken to the pound. Atuk – A Loyal Boy Looking for a Second Chanc… Atuk is a handsome Czechoslovakian Wolfdog who was about two and a half years old when he arrived at the pound in May. Like all the other dogs, he spends more than 23 hours a day confined in a small cage, with only a short break in the patio to stretch his legs and enjoy some fresh air. Before the summer, he was able to share the patio with other dogs without any problems.During the summer, Atuk stayed in foster care with the hope of adoption. He managed well in a home environment and behaved nicely around the children, but he didn’t get along with the family’s other dog and therefore had to return to the pound.True to his breed, Atuk is an independent and somewhat reserved dog. He isn’t overly attached or demanding of attention, but with time and trust, he will develop a close bond with his person. He needs an owner who understands his nature and can offer him calm and consistent guidance.Atuk is looking for an experienced owner familiar with the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog or similar breeds. He would do best as the only dog in the home. An active family who enjoys spending time outdoors would be ideal, as Atuk needs daily exercise and mental stimulation to thrive.
